After struggling to get his weight Alan Faulds finally came good to take the lead at the 5th end.

 

John Irving, who had had the better of the early exchanges, had a cruel pick-up in the 6th which gave Alan the chance to extend his lead.

 

A 2 at the seventh for Alan and 1 for John at the eighth ended the scoring in this highly competitive and entertaining match.
