On Sunday with the cold spell
continuing but the prospect of a “Grand Match” diminishing, Ross McIntosh,
Dougie Geddes, George McNeil and David Hewitt headed for the Lake of Menteith
for a once in a lifetime chance to curl outdoors. After an hour or so preparing a rink
some opposition was found from members of Abercorn, Doune and Aberfeldy and a
game got underway. After 5 ends the match ended with Linlithgow the winners Following some light refreshments two
further short games were played. On some ice nearby members of Central
Province were running a competition and Linlithgow were invited to join in,
the boys winning 1 and losing 1. A great time was had and thanks must
go to Ross for all his efforts in rounding up the necessary stones and
equipment and to all who donated to make the day possible. |
