Competition Rules

 

 

Opening Bonspiel - 4 teams.

 

Teams play 3 games of 2 ends against other teams.

Winning team is team with highest ends up, then points up.

 

Henderson League. - 6 teams.

 

Each team plays the other 5 teams twice in the season, the length of the match being determined by the rink bell.

Points are awarded depending on the result, 2 points for a win 1 for peels. 

The winning rink will be the rink with the highest points total at the end of the season. In the event of a tie on points the winner will be the rink with the highest shots up. If still equal then shots scored. If still equal then the best head to head record.

 

Bennie League. - 6 teams.

 

Each team plays the other 5 teams once in the season, the length of the match being determined by the rink bell.

Points are awarded depending on the result, 2 points for a win 1 for peels. 

The winning rink will be the rink with the highest points total at the end of the season. In the event of a tie on points the winner will be the rink with the highest shots up. If still equal then shots scored. If still equal then the best head to head record.

 

Teind Barn KO

 

Top 2 teams in Henderson League after each team has played the other once; receive a bye to the semi final.

The 3rd placed team plays the 6th placed and the 4th and 5th placed meet and the winners of these ties progress to the semi final.

In the semi final the top team will play the winner of the 4th / 5th tie and the 2nd team will play the 3rd / 6th winner, the winning teams meeting in the final.

Games are played to the rink bell. The winner will be decided on points, then ends and if tied under both, the skips shall play one more stone and the winner will be the stone nearest the centre of the head.

If for any reason the result cannot be decided on the ice the result will be decided by toss of a coin, although the committee reserve the right to order a rematch.

All 6 teams play 1 game in this bonspiel, the fixtures having been decided by the committee at the team selection meeting.

The winner will be the team with the highest ends up after 8 ends.

In the event of a tie then shots up, followed by shots scored, will determine the winner.
